Lomi is the Hawaiian expression for massage and means ‘pressing, kneading, massaging, rubbing, softening as well as working on the inside and the outside.’

Lomi Lomi is a Hawaiian intensive form of massage as well as a massage ritual that had formerly been handed down within certain families. A young family member was chosen to learn this knowledge and to become an expert or ‘Kahuna’ in the respective practice.

By oral tradition and practical application, different forms of Lomi have developed throughout time and across generations.

However, all of them have the following things in common:
