Lomi is the Hawaiian word for massage and means: “pressing, kneading, 
rubbing, working on the inside and outside.” The version of  Lomi-Lomi which 
has been taught outside Hawaii since 1981 and is also known under 
“Hawaiian temple massage” was developed by a kahuna (“... an experienced 
guard and teacher of knowledge...”) who presently lives in Hawaii.

He teaches us that the old civilisations all over the world, including Hawaii, had a deep knowledge about the significance of the temple sites (...”heiaus”..). Those holy sites were often oriented towards certain stellar or solar patterns. The people who received a Lomi-Lomi massage within those “heiaus” were deeply impressed and were left with the readiness to change their lives. Such an effect can still be achieved today if the recipient of the massage is open and ready for it...
